As a result of the BC Teacher's Federation proposed Job Action the ABCDE made the decision on March 30th to cancel the 2012 Provincial Festival.

It is with great sadness that this difficult decision was made, but given the recent BCTF decision that no exemptions would be given for any extra-curricular activities to continue or wind down, the ABCDE executive unanimously decided they had no choice but to protect the members and finances of the ABCDE by cancelling this year's festival.

The ABCDE would like to thank and congratulate all the students and teachers who participated in zone festivals this year.
